A friend takes Fioricet for headaches and it contains the sedative “butalbital” combined with tylenol and caffeine. She would like to avoid the tylenol and caffeine for their obvious ill effects and find a way to take butalbital by itself? I am 14 weeks pregnant and have had horrible splitting headaches for 2 weeks now. I was in the hospital 3 weeks ago with severe ear infection and cellulitis. While in the hospital I was on Extra strength tylenol and vicodin everyday. So I am very uneasy about taking anything else. but I’ve gone through a whole bottle of extra strength tylenol in the two weeks I have dealt with these headaches. My doctor prescribed fioricet before pregnancy! Is it safe to take now! Please Help!!!

Has anyone ever been on fioricet while pregnant? Did they work well? How did the baby turn out? I got switched from tylenol 3 for migraines,and i’ve been on them before,just not while pregnant. The fioricet. They did wonders with my headaches before,I’m just looking for women that have taken them/known people to take them (acetiminophen/apap/butabilbitol) that everything’s worked out ok.
